The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova paid an official visit to the NSZL

The Ambassador of Moldova to Hungary, Oleg Țulea, and his First Secretary, Vadim Beldiman, were received on 13 February 2024 at the National Library by Dávid Rózsa, Director General, Judit Gerencsér, Deputy Director General and Zoltán Lewalt-Jezierski, Head of the Director General's Cabinet.

The predecessor of the National Library of Moldova is the Public Library of the Governor of Bessarabia, founded in 1832. The library, located in Chişinău, approached the National Széchenyi Library in 2023 in order to initiate cooperation.

During the meeting, the Moldovan delegation and the leadership of the NSZL discussed the operation of the national libraries of both countries, the promotion of professional dialogue and institutional cooperation, the exchange of their own published books, and the establishment of a cooperation agreement between the two national libraries.
